The Portable CLC - a lighter flexible approach

For the financial year 2009 - 2010

We have been running the Portable CLC for several years, and following discussions with our partner schools, we are going to refine the way we work.  The aim is to create a lighter unit that is both more portable and flexible so that we can support you in a wider range of activities.

In making the Portable CLC "light" we will be reducing the number of laptops to 16, which might need paired work, but also make it easier to fit into a normal sized classroom.  These laptops will have a very high specification, using USB sticks to move the large files around.  This will mean that we will not need to set up a network, thereby reducing installation time.

We will also bring a range of equipment to your school.  This could include the popular chromakey curtain and studio, but also sets of digital cameras, data loggers etc.  We want to work with you to develop new kits to bring out, perhaps as part of our Emerging Technologies Project.
